Food Distributor Controls Temperatures with High Speed Doors

A food distributor was losing fruit in a storage facility due to spoilage.

PROBLEM

The customer was very unhappy with the bi-folding, upward-acting sectional doors in their banana room storage facility. The bi-folding doors were very difficult to service and it was tough to get replacement parts. Each banana room held $100,000 worth of product and the customer couldn’t risk using doors that didn’t hold the room’s temperature to keep food from spoiling or cause further breakdowns.

SOLUTION

DH Pace recommended low-maintenance, high-speed doors that move at 20 inches per second, versus the 5 inches per second of their existing bi-fold doors. The newer technology required less maintenance and kept the temperature more constant.

CONCLUSION

New technology offers solutions that can have significant impact to your products or services.
